AN EXCITING NEW ADDITION TO THE CANCER CLINIC TEAM
Dr. Mark Floyd officially joined the Cancer Clinic on Tuesday, September 4th, 2018 to a rousing and warm welcome from the Cancer Clinic team and patients.
After a nationwide search, Drs.Tripathy, Jenkins and Fleener feel they have found the perfect fit for the practice. We know you are going to appreciate the many talents Dr. Floyd is bringing to our patients as he comes to us with an impressive resume and education that includes:

WHY HE CHOSE ONCOLOGY: ‘My uncle was diagnosed with cancer when I was in college. Knowing firsthand what patients and families go through during that journey really opened my eyes to that vulnerable world and made me want to help heal and guide them through it. The journey is one that no one wants to take but my aim is to be with you during every step.’

A Multitude of Diverse Hobbies: To say Dr. Floyd has a lot of energy would be an understatement, on any given day you can find him enjoying hiking, running, cycling, swimming, golf, football, kayaking, baseball, basketball, soccer, golf, and tennis. We’re worn out just reading the list.
Travel Is In His DNA: Dr. Floyd was born in Lakeland, Florida and loves traveling and exploring new cultures. He has lived in three countries including Dominica and the Bahamas, six US states, and 12 cities. In total, he’s visited 23 states and 17 foreign countries across Europe and the Caribbean.
A Coffee Aficionado: Dr. Floyd managed a Starbucks after college and before medical school. His favorite coffees are Jamaican Blue Mountain (must be 100% pure, not mixed) and he finds Black Ivory Coffee (Google it) the most interesting. He is now officially in charge of the practice coffee maker.
Hurricane Sandy Relief: Dr. Floyd is an avid volunteer and participated in the Hurricane Sandy Relief at Mount Sinai Beth Israel during October 2012.
TOP AWARDS / RESEARCH & PUBLICATIONS: As you might expect, Dr. Floyd excelled in school achieving the Ross University School of Medicine Dean’s List, Florida Atlantic University Dean’s List and the University of Florida Dean’s List. He is published in professional journals and has given several poster presentations in his fast growing career.
ENGAGED IN YOSEMITE: Dr. Floyd met his wife, Courtney, in New York City during medical school, they got engaged on the top of “Cloud’s Rest” at Yosemite National park, and then married in his final year of residency. They have one son, Connor, who is 14 months old. Their dog, a cockapoo named Daisy, rounds out the always on the move Floyd household.
